Bezeq – structural separation in exchange for telephony in the wholesale market

Exactly a year ago, Shlomo Pilber, the director-general of the Ministry of Communications, promotes the issue on behalf of the person who appointed him – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also serves as Minister of Communications (and Foreign Minister and Minister of Regional Cooperation and Economy).
In other words, Bezeq, which still has a monopoly controlling the communications market (and also the Ministry of Communications), will be able to start merging all the subsidiaries after the separation imposed on it due to being a monopoly that did not allow other companies to enter and compete.

Eliminating the separation and merging between the companies will allow Bezeq to save tens of millions of NIS and even offer combined packages of TV, Internet infrastructure, Internet provider and cellular.
Combined and complete packages for consumers is a good thing but as a monopoly process the process will be packages at very low prices that will “eliminate” all other competitors in the market and hence the way back to high prices and no competition is very short.

The meaning of the wholesale market is to allow all companies and those who wish to do so to use Bezeq infrastructure and provide a service that includes infrastructure, something that Bezeq apparently strongly opposes.
It should be remembered that the infrastructure in question has been the infrastructure of the State of Israel since the years when Bezeq was still a government company.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Communications set up a working team to abolish structural separation and began summoning operators and hearing their opinions on the issue.

What exactly is the wholesale market? In short, a pile of nonsense and work on everyone’s eyes.
Bezeq has been sophistically navigating the Ministry of Communications for years and recently also controls the Ministry of Communications.
The purpose of the wholesale market was to dismantle the infrastructure from Bezeq and allow other companies to start competing with Bezeq.
As long as the infrastructure remains with Bezeq, there is no competition in this and the only one that earns and will continue to earn is Bezeq only.
In the past, the Minister of Communications Kahlon signed an outline that is supposed to dismantle Bezeq, just as they did worldwide for BT companies in the UK and AT&T in the US. But Gilad Ardan canceled all the reforms with complete disregard for the public.
And is the public aware of this? No!
(It should be noted that Gilad Ardan also canceled an outline that he led as a window in which he did good with Hot only because of his connection through his sister.)

Is the wholesale market good for Bezeq or not?
Always if you want to promote an action that is good for you and bad for the other side the right way is to strongly oppose the action you want. After all, if you object, this action is probably not good for you.
This is exactly Bezeq’s recent operations !!
Only the talk of the wholesale market has actually eliminated the big competitor, the Unlimited Fiber Optics for Homes venture, whose chances of operating are nil today.
As the wholesale market promotes Bezeq will only gain more and more while the ISP providers will only lose and finance Bezeq.

You as a customer will also lose big with the move to the wholesale market. Maybe in the first year you will earn a few shekels but your loss will be bigger. We consumers have already lost with the collapse of the Fiber Unlimited project.
Reports indicate that customers who were connected to Bezeq and moved to the wholesale market began to suffer from infrastructure problems (this is exactly the same infrastructure), but contacting Bezeq is not answered because you are no longer a Bezeq customer.
Now go and try to solve the problems with the ISP provider …..

Want to promote competition or at least not take us back a few years and inflate Bezeq’s profits? Stay in Bezeq or Hot, insist and press for as low a price as possible.
In this way, Bezeq will still have to provide you with a modem, provide a technician service to the house and solve faults and maintain the infrastructure, which they will not do if you become a customer of the wholesale market.
